Lors de leur dernière dégustation des « grands » vins du Languedoc-Roussillon, Andrew Jefford, Mike edwards et Marcel Orford-William se sont arrêté sur le Domaine de l’Hortus rouge « Grande Cuvée » 2008.
Voici leurs commentaires, ressortis dans "The World of Fine Wine review, Issue 33 2011" :
2008 Domaine de l’Hortus Grande Cuvée Pic Saint Loup (13% ABV) – 17/20.
Mike Edwards : “Fine, flowing wine, with appoachable pure fruit”. 16/20.
Andrew Jefford : “Saturatedly dark black-red. Gorgeous aromatic profile, evidently Syrah-led, of orange blossom, orange peel, and jasmine. Fragrant, enchanting, and refined; magnificent, heady, and seductive. Nowhere else in the world can do this. Soft, vivid, fresh, and supple, this wine has a magnificent core of soft, profoundly aromatic fruit in which those same notes of orange and jasmine are extravagantly present. It’s not deep or weighty; it doesn’t have a lot of palate wealth; the tannins are fine and supple; the acidity is present but unobtrusive. It is, quite simply, an aromatic tour de force”. 18/20.
Marcel Orford-William : “Full fruit. Succulent and rich. Ripe blackberry and maybe a touch of olive and graphite. Delicious”. 17/20.
